McNeilus Supports Industry Research and Education with Atlantic Series Front Loader® Donation to EREF Auction at WasteExpo 2025
Industry-leading front loader helps support research, education and sustainability initiatives in partnership with the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF).
Dodge Center, MN (April 30, 2025) – McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) business, announced today it is once again donating a refuse and recycling collection body to the Environmental Research & Education Foundation’s (EREF) Annual Charitable Auction, held during the upcoming WasteExpo 2025 in Las Vegas. This year’s donation features a 40 yd. McNeilus Atlantic Series Front Loader® mounted on a Mack® TerraPro chassis. The chassis is donated by Nuss Truck & Equipment and Mack.
The truck will be on display in EREF’s booth (#3868) throughout the WasteExpo event. Attendees are encouraged to stop by and learn more about this contribution to one of the industry’s most impactful causes. The live auction will take place at the same location on Wednesday, May 7 at 3 p.m. PT, while the silent auction will be held online from April 23 to May 7.
"EREF’s mission to fund research, education and innovation in refuse management aligns directly with our values at McNeilus,” said Lee Dreas, vice president and general manager of McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing. “By donating one of our most durable and in-demand vehicles, we’re supporting not only the future of our industry, but also the communities that rely on safe and sustainable waste collection.”
The Atlantic Series Front Loader is McNeilus’ heavy-duty front loader model, known for its rugged performance and exceptional durability in demanding applications. Built with AR450 abrasion-resistant steel, a clean headframe design, and arms rated to lift up to 10,000 pounds, the Atlantic delivers high compaction power and exceptional payload capacity. The Atlantic Series Front Loader comes standard with our leading Excalibre™ packing cylinders and X-Wear (chromium carbide) wear strips to maximize packer performance and strength.
Last year, donations to the EREF Charitable Auction, including McNeilus’ truck, helped raise $4.4 million in support of critical programs such as landfill emissions measurement, PFAS management, and innovations in recycling, composting, and waste-to-energy conversion. All proceeds from the auction directly benefit EREF’s mission.
"The Atlantic is an extremely popular front loader in the market and consistently receives strong auction results,” added Dreas. “This donation not only showcases our product but is one of the meaningful contributions we make each year.”
McNeilus’ partnership with EREF extends beyond the auction, with the company actively participating in other charitable initiatives throughout the year. These efforts further reinforce McNeilus’ dedication to promoting sustainability, advancing safety, and supporting education and research that strengthens the waste collection industry as a whole.
McNeilus will also be exhibiting at WasteExpo 2025 in booth #3029, where attendees can explore additional innovations in refuse and recycling collection vehicles, services, and technology.
