The honor highlights McNeilus’ leadership in electrification, intelligent systems, and advanced manufacturing as part of Oshkosh Corporation’s continued focus on engineering technology that moves the world forward.

Presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the CES Innovation Awards program celebrates outstanding design and engineering in technology products that address global challenges and improve everyday life. McNeilus’ recognition marks a milestone for the refuse and recycling industry, reflecting how purpose-built electric vehicles are transforming essential services and sustainability practices in communities worldwide.

Manufactured at McNeilus’ state-of-the-art facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the fully integrated Volterra electric refuse and recycling vehicles combine zero-emission performance with McNeilus’ proven refuse body design. Each vehicle is equipped with an electrified drivetrain, smart battery system, and cooperative regenerative braking, providing all-day route performance on a single charge while managing maintenance requirements and operating costs.

The CES recognition comes during a year of significant investment and expansion for McNeilus. The company recently completed a modernization of its Dodge Center, Minnesota headquarters, introducing Industry 4.0 digital systems, high-flow production lines, robotic paint systems, and end-to-end traceability through a new Manufacturing Execution System (MES). These enhancements support rapid scalability and ensure each refuse and recycling collection vehicle meets the highest quality standards.

Additionally, McNeilus’ Murfreesboro, Tennessee, facility continues to grow as a hub for electric vehicle innovation and production.
