MCNEILUS SHOWCASES PURPOSE-BUILT TRUCKS, ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND INDUSTRY EXPERTISE AT WASTE EXPO

Las Vegas, NV (May 6, 2024)McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) business, is highlighting innovative solutions and refuse collection expertise this week at Waste Expo in Las Vegas.

In booth #1827 visitors can see the latest technology enhancements and expanded capabilities from McNeilus in categories such as electrification, residential and commercial collection, telematics, automation and sustainability. Along with product displays and software demonstrations, McNeilus experts are available to provide information on electric refuse collection solutions, zero-emission compliance, advanced manufacturing and other topics driving the industry forward. McNeilus’ refuse collection solutions are spotlighted throughout the exhibit hall, with 16 McNeilus truck bodies on display and featured in partner booths.

Solutions and products displayed in the McNeilus booth include:

  • The McNeilus® Volterra ZSL: The first fully integrated electric refuse collection vehicle (eRCV) in North America delivers outstanding overall total cost of ownership. The purpose-built Volterra ZSL eRCV features a driver-first design and technology to optimize ease of operation, safety, visibility, maneuverability and comfort. Since its introduction at Waste Expo 2023, the Volterra ZSL eRCV has earned multiple zero-emission certifications from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB).
  • McNeilus® ePTO (Electric Power Takeoff) Technology: A self-contained electric power system optimized and dedicated to powering body functions and designed to work with multiple electric chassis brands. The McNeilus Zero Radius™ Side Loader, with integrated ePTO technology, features common component placement, most notably the high-voltage disconnect and consistent service parts for streamlined maintenance and training. This technology meets zero-emissions requirements and enables optimal, quiet and consistent performance.
  • The McNeilus® Meridian Front Loader: Highlighting how the company has transformed front loader collection for commercial and residential routes, the Meridian Front Loader is partially made with SSAB Fossil-free™ steel, driving sustainability and helping customers control their carbon footprint. Additionally, reinforcements to specific body components and streamlined hydraulics provide performance and efficiency upgrades.
  • McNeilus® CartSeeker Curbside Automation: An advanced AI-based system with cameras, light detection and ranging technology which identifies residential waste carts. Another feature of the CartSeeker™ system automates alignment and the lift arm’s dump cycle to assist with operational efficiency. This technology is being featured through an interactive kiosk.
  • ClearSky by McNeilus® Telematics: McNeilus’ ClearSky telematics system offers a unique and complete view of overall fleet health by combining data from body and chassis systems to provide usage information and predictive maintenance capabilities, simplifying and optimizing fleet management. ClearSky™ by McNeilus® telematics is being showcased through a demonstration of the system’s fleet management dashboard.

Reflecting its commitment to supporting industry partnerships, McNeilus is again donating to the Environmental Research and Education Foundation’s (EREF) annual charitable auction at Waste Expo. This year’s auction will feature a McNeilus Atlantic Series Front Loader® on a Mack TerraPro chassis. Last year, donations from McNeilus and other industry partners raised $4.4 million to support scholarships, industry research and other EREF programs.
